Slip and Slide

This is what happens during winter in Texas...it rains, freezes and cars, roads and everything are covered in sheets of ice. They actually closed the university last Tuesday and 1/2 of Wednesday because of this business. It was crazy because city people don't know how to drive in this stuff and there were SOOOOOO many wrecks. Note to all: don't live by a hospital in a big city...lots of sirens :(

You're Beautiful

I had the opportunity to work with my friend Jennifer on a project that she was working on. She is on a committee with the American Cancer Society and they put on an event every year here in Denton called "You're Beautiful" that showcases cancer survivors and benefits cancer research. Jenn was in charge of the decor this year and I got to help a lot with the home making of a bunch of stuff. In the end it turned out to be really gorgeous and the event itself was awesome. So many amazing men and women, I was so lucky to be apart of this. Thanks Jenn!

The stage backdrop...haven't been on a ladder in a while
table centerpieces...we worked on these for a couple months. made the vases from empty containers, covered them with paper, ribbon and feather. I made all the table numbers. Jenn got most of the supplies and I was the gluer and such when I could go over for an evening and turn her and Paul's house into a craft show HAHA. She did the arrangements too since I had class.
Jenn made this AWESOME fountain...she's decorating my wedding some day because she is amazing! :)

Sara does Waco

I took a 2 day trip down to Waco to see my friend Stacey who now works at Baylor University. We went country dancing on Friday night at a club in Waco and listened to Wade Bowen (Texas country guy). And then on Saturday we made the rounds in Waco checking out campus and town and going shopping :) It was great to see her and get away for a couple of days.

Dancin at Wild West...gettin our 2 step on!
We went to an equestrian event and it was interesting.

The actual Baylor Bears...they were sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping, seriously passed out lol
The sunrise as I drove home on Sunday morning...made it in time to shower and go to church :)

On to New Mexico!

Alex is moving on to the next venture in his career and it is taking him to New Mexico. He went there last week to check it out and find a place to live. He bought a house in a new development where a few other pilots have bought houses. The house isn't built yet but the pile of dirt is his! The blue prints look great and the area is really nice. I'm excited to go see it over Spring Break in March, it might be almost done by then :)

Taking over :)

He's really excited to own his own place and I'm excited for him (plus I get to decorated it hehe :))

Home for the Holidays - Part 4

For New Years we went to Tri Cities and spent it with a bunch of our friends at Neilan and Katie's place. It was great to see Neilan and Katie and fun to spend time with everyone. Then we went over to the west side to Federal Way, where Alex's family lives and spent some time with them before we both had to had back south.

My trip home was a success! It was great to see my family and friends and spend time with the people I love the most. Can't wait to go home in April for Neilan and Katie's wedding :)
