I love baseball season

Baseball is my favorite sport to watch (some may think it's boring) with football and then basketball coming in after that. I have always loved watching it and going to Mariners games with my family. Now I "watch" sports for a living and it's the best thing ever! I love my job :)

Backyard: Final Stage (for now haha)

FINALLY!!! WE HAVE GRASS!!!! We're so glad that we finally have a yard to enjoy and entertain in. Also happy that Gabby has a nice place to play now. Not that she didn't love the dirt land it was before but now she doesn't have mom (aka me) trying the clean her up everytime she comes inside. The house will be A LOT cleaner :) YAY!! Below are a few pictures of the finished product. Alex also got out the patio furniture his parents bought us at a house warming gift. They were nice to sit in and admire our beautiful yard on a nice Easter Sunday afternoon.

Backyard: Stage 3

We now have rocks in the flower beds and perimeter of the yard. Things are shaping up nicely and now we're anxious for grass and to finally have a yard for us, friends and the dog to enjoy.

Backyard: Stage 2

A couple weeks ago they finished leveling out the yard and getting it prepped for rock (outside the brick) and sod (inside the brick). We're getting anxious for it all to be done...They also finished a couple projects we started MONTHS ago (see below):

Backyard Take 2: Stage 1

Well Alex and I decided to try and tackle our backyard ourselves in the fall (see post/pictures from like October). We didn't really get very far. We removed most of the jungle of weeds that had shown up over the summer and Alex layed a brick perimeter and a started a small patio out of pavers for our fire pit. Since then we've come to our senses and realized we don't know enough or do we have the time to complete this task in right manner. We hired a local brother duo to do our dirty work (literally MUD!). One brother owns an irrigation business and much to my dad's delight sell's RainBird products (just like my dad hehe). The other brother has a landscaping business. It's working out really well so far. Last week we got our sprinklers and then this week they're doing the sod and other landscaping (i.e. fixing our bricks, finishing the patio, planting some plants and laying rock). The pictures below are after the sprinklers were put in. Today they are leveling the yard and getting it ready for some sod...YAY GRASS!!!! Gabby will be so excited :) I know Alex and I are!!! More pictures to come...

pup is growin' up!

Well it's been a while seen I posted a pic of the Gabinator aka Gabby the puppy. She is about 24 weeks old now and weighs over 25 lbs. She's a growin girl and just cute as ever. We started puppy obedience classes about 4 weeks ago. She's actually doing really well and its probably the most mild mannered and well behaved dog in the class. She gets used for demos a lot because the instructor says she's easy to deal with (haha easy to say when you're the lady with a pocket full of cut up string cheese). But anyways, she is a little ray of sunshine in my day because I get unconditional love from her. She's always happy to see me and love me :) Her favorite thing to do with Alex is bark and play bite. I don't really like it but it's their game...silly!

Today the demo on our backyard begins. sprinkler system, sod and landscaping. Gabby is excited to finally have a yard and we are excited for no more super muddy paws every time it decides to rain or randomly snow. YAY!!! (pic to come)
